ABOUT BUYING AN ORIGINAL PAINTING
by Judy M. Rogers
The web images are based on photographs I (JMR) took of the paintings; to wit:  not by a professional
photographer.  I would consider having a professional photograph taken, depending on how well the
web image matches the original painting and whether I have access to the original painting.  I may
need to pass the cost of a professional photograph to the potential buyer, depending on the
circumstances.  I also would consider marking the web image as "sale pending" and unavailable for
sale until the professional photograph is shared with the potential buyer, preferably by e-mail.
Most paintings are done with watercolors.  Some are mixed media, such as watercolor with
hand-painted paper collage (
Lonesome Pine and Mountain Scene) or with acrylics (such as
Sophia's Garden.)
I received expert advise on the least expensive, yet protective, method of mailing the paintings.  Each
unframed and unmatted painting will be laid flat with protective layers fore and aft and then inserted
into  a flattened cardboard box.

The method of mailing a framed painting will be determined by mutual agreement between the buyer
and me.
